Metal
Metal is a premier system that offers a wide selection of applications and customization. Metal roofs offer superior strength, durability, and fire resistance and come in a wide array of styles, designs, shapes, textures, and application types.
Because metal roofs are comprised of molded and shaped metal, they are available in many shapes and styles. Some don't even look like metal. Due to the strength and flexibility of metal roofing systems, over two billion square feet of metal roofing is installed annually with a projected six billion square feet of metal roofing to be laid within the next five years.
Metal roofing systems are one of the more durable and lasting systems preferred by contractors. Most need no replacement 15-20 years after being laid; metal roofs do not crack, shrink, or erode like many other roofing materials. Metal roofs are also one of the most resilient in harsh conditions and have been proven to stand well under hail and hurricane conditions. Not only are they lightweight, usually less than 1/3 the weight of fiberglass or asphalt systems, they are one of the most energy efficient. They can actually lower air conditioning and heating costs. A 1985 study by the Florida Solar Energy Center demonstrated that metal roofing absorbed 34% less heat than those roofed with asphalt compounds. This system requires very low maintenance, adds value and attraction to the building, and can usually be installed directly over the existing roofing system. Metal roofs are among the best choices when considering longevity and value in a commercial roofing system.
